AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF WILKINSON
COUNTY, GEORGIA, FOR THE PURPOSE OF REGULATING PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS IN
UNINCORPORATED AREAS OF WILKINSON COUNTY, GEORGIA, TO PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR
VIOLATIONS OF SAID ORDINANCE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Wilkinson
County, Georgia, pursuant to the authority of O.C.G.A. §36-1-20, and it
is hereby resolved by authority of same, as follows:
- A person who shall be and appear in an intoxicated condition in any public
place or within the curtilage of any private residence not his own other
than by invitation of the owner or lawful occupant, which condition is made
manifest by boisterousness, by indecent condition or act, or by vulgar,
profane, loud, or unbecoming language is guilty of public drunkenness.
- Jurisdiction over the prosecution of any such offense shall be in the
Magistrate Court of Wilkinson County, Georgia.
- Any person convicted of public drunkenness shall be punished by payment of
a fine not exceeding $500.00 or imprisonment in the County Jail for a term
not exceeding sixty (60) days, or both.
- All ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
ENACTED this 6th day of August 1985 by the
Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners.
