Wilkinson County is an exciting place to live, work, visit, or locate a new business. The 29th county formed in Georgia, it is approximately 30 square miles with seven small cities/towns. Our county has the greatest potential of any county in the State of Georgia. It is located in the central part of the state along the Georgia Fall Line. It is near Interstate Highways I-16, I-20, and I-75 and is just minutes away from Atlanta, Dublin, Macon, and Milledgeville.

Major highway projects which include US 441 and the Fall Line Freeway will be expanded to four lanes and will intersect in the northern part of the county. There are two major rail systems operating in the county with rail lines in six of the seven small cities/towns. Natural gas, dual electrical power suppliers and ample water supplies make Wilkinson County an excellent choice for new industries.

We have an abundance of natural resources including kaolin, bauxite, forestry, ground water and wildlife. The Oconee River forms the eastern boundary of the county with great fishing and hunting. Wilkinson County is the home for approximately 11,000 citizens who are our county's greatest resource.
