Sanitation Department
Wilkinson County garbage is collected from Collection Centers and green boxes located throughout the County and taken to the Twiggs-Wilkinson Joint Landfill.
Green Box dumpster sites are for bagged household garbage only, sites are clearly marked with signage specifying Household Garbage Only. Disposal of any and all construction materials, furniture, tires or any other type materials than household garbage will incur a fine. Disposal of any and all types of garbage on the ground around these containers is PROHIBITED and will also incur a fine. These sites are posted and monitored with camera surveillance.
**NOTICE: Public Works Office Site has a roll-off container available for disposal of furniture and other non household garbage items Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. just inside the gated area behind the household garbage green boxes. Public Works Office Site also accepts limb debris during the same hours as above and may be unloaded on the ground. Please check into office for directions. Limb and yard debris may be disposed of at the collection centers during business hours in the appropriate container.

All Wilkinson County Collection Centers will operate from the following schedule. Collection

As usual Collection Centers will be open all holidays; in order to do this the schedule may have to be altered at that time.
Wilkinson County does not provide Commercial Garbage service.
