Recreation Board:

Prior to the 1993 resolution, the Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners realized the need of an governing board to oversee all recreational activities. They also concluded that it was in the best interest of the youth and all citizens of the county to appoint members to a Board of Recreation for such supervised county recreation program.

On April 6, 1993 a resolution by the Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners was established to appoint the “Wilkinson County Recreation Board” for the purpose of  establishing a supervised recreation program for Wilkinson County, Georgia; to provide for the terms of the members, duties of the members of said board, and for other purposes.  The Recreation Board consist of nine (9) members appointed by the Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners.  The members serve staggered five (5) year terms.

The regular meeting of the Recreation Board are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30 at the Commissioners Office in the Wilkinson County Courthouse.
