The WIlkinson County Sheriff’s Office is currently hiring Full and Part Time Jail Officer Positions for NIGHT SHIFT 6pm-6am.
- Experience preferred, but not necessary
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Pass a polygraph test
- Undergo a psychological exam
- Undergo a Drug Screen
Starting pay: Uncertified Jail Officer $13.08/hour (Pay Grade 10A) & Certified Jail Officer $13.72/hour (Pay Grade 11A)

L & A Testing, Computation & Canvassing and Absentee Voting
November 2, 2021 for the Cities of Gordon, Irwinton & Toomsboro General Election
In accordance with O.C.G.A. 21-2-379.6 (c) Logic & Accuracy testing on the voting equipment to be used in the November 2, 2021, Municipal General Election and will be publicly performed in the Board of Elections and Registrations office.Testing will begin on September 27, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. This testing will continue day to day until completed. Members of the public are invited to observe the preparation and testing of all equipment to be used.The election superintendent and deputy registrar will conduct testing.Computation, canvassing, and certification of election results will begin on Wednesday November 3, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., unless otherwise posted, and will continue day to day until complete.
The voter registration deadline for the November 2, 2021, Municipal General Election is October 4, 2021.Absentee voting by mail will begin on October 12, 2021-October 22, 2021. Advanced In-Person voting will begin October 12, 2021-October 29, 2021, at the courthouse from 9:00am-5:00pm. Saturday voting will be on October 16 & 23, 2021. NOTICE: Public Hearing on Sept 27, 2021
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
A public hearing on the proposed FY 2022 budget for Wilkinson County will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Chambers of the Wilkinson County Courthouse, located at 100 Bacon Street, Irwinton, Georgia. Pending no further action is needed, said budget will be adopted on Tuesday October 4, 2021at 9:00 a.m. at the commissioner’s regularly scheduled meeting.
The proposed budget for FY 2022 is available for public inspection Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Office at 100 Bacon Street, Irwinton, Georgia.
