NOTICE: Development Authority of Wilkinson County seeking Executive Director (position filled as of 7/29/2025)
The Development Authority of Wilkinson County, Georgia is seeking a highly qualified candidate with both a technical expertise and passion for community-centered innovation to serve as its Executive Director.
The Middle Georgia Regional Commission will be receiving all application materials and will conduct the initial screening for this position.
Applications must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on Friday, November 22, 2024 to be considered in the first review of applications.
To be considered for this position, interested candidates should submit by email a cover letter, resume, at least three job-related references (with email and phone numbers), as well as salary history to wilkinsonrecruit@mg-rc.org with the subject line “Development Authority”.

NOTICE: Intent to process and tabulate early of absentee ballots
PURSUANT TO O.C.G.A. 21-2-386(a)(1)(G) (2) (A) & 183-1-14) This is to notify the citizens of Wilkinson County that the Wilkinson County Board of Elections/Registrar Office, will begin Processing of the ballots for the November 5, 2024, General Election at 9:00 a.m. on October 31, 2024, until completed. Early Processing will be in the Wilkinson County Election & Registration Office in the courthouse at 100 Bacon St, Rm 133 Irwinton, GA 31042.
The early processing of absentee ballots before the closing of the polls shall be a controlled process to maintain the secrecy of all ballots and to protect against the collection or disclosure of any balloting information before the close of the polls at 7:00 PM on Election Day.

NOTICE: Early Voting Dates
Early Voting is being held at the Wilkinson County Courthouse located at 100 Bacon St. Irwinton, GA 31042
- 10/15 -10/19/2024 from 9 am to 5 pm
- 10/21 – 10/26/2024 from 9 am to 5 pm
- 10/28 – 11/01/20024 from 9 am to 5 pm
We will have no Sunday voting.

NOTICE: Request for quotes to renovatation of the old jail
The Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners will be accepting bids on the following County Project:

- Renovation of the old jail to included but not be limited to:

- Floor repairs including carpet removal & new floor installation
- Repairing and painting walls
Work will be done to facilities located at 100 Bacon Street, Irwinton, GA, next to the Wilkinson County Courthouse. The successful bidder will submit a certificate of workers comp. and liability insurance when the bid is awarded. A Residential Contractors license for the state of Georgia will be required.
Specifications may be obtained at the Wilkinson County Commissioners Office in the Court House located at 100 Bacon Street, Irwinton Georgia 31042, on the county website https://wilkinsoncounty.net, or by emailing tstrange@wilkinsoncounty.net.
Sealed Bids will be accepted until 12:00 P.M., November 4, 2024, and will be opened at the Public Bid Opening to be held at the Wilkinson County Commissioners Office and will be recorded at that time. The Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to accept or reject any bid.
