The Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners, along with city mayors will meet on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 in a Work Session at 11:00 a.m. to receive a presentation on an emergency alert system.
The meeting will convene at the EMA office located at 114 Wriley Road, Irwinton, GA 31042.

JOB OPENING: Wilkinson County is seeking to fill (3) three Laborer positions.
- HOURS: Monday through Friday 7:00-3:30 (40 hours per week)
- SALARY TO BE DISCUSSED – BASED ON EXPERIENCE & CLASS LICENSE
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: This position includes but is not limited to: operating vehicles, tractors with attachments, chainsaws and other light equipment. Applicant must hold a valid Class C Georgia drivers license. Successful applicant must pass a BACKGROUND CHECK and DRUG SCREEN.

L & A Testing, Computation & Canvassing and Absentee Voting
May 24, 2022 for the General Primary Election
In accordance with O.C.G.A. 21-2-379.6 (c) Logic & Accuracy testing on the voting equipment to be used in the May 24, 2022 General Primary Election will be publicly performed in the Wilkinson County Courthouse at 100 Bacon Street, Irwinton, GA 31042. Testing will begin on April 25, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. This testing will continue day to day until completed. Members of the public are invited to observe the preparation and testing of all equipment to be used. The election superintendent and deputy registrar will conduct testing. Computation, canvassing, and certification of election results will begin on Wednesday May 25, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., unless otherwise posted, and will continue day to day until complete.
The voter registration deadline for the May 24, 2022 General Primary Election is April 25, 2022. Absentee voting by mail will begin on April 25, 2022. Advanced In-Person voting will begin May 2, 2022-May 20, 2022, at the courthouse in conference room 128 from 9:00am-5:00pm. Saturday voting will be on May 7 & 14, 2022 from 9:00a.m. – 5:00 p.m. For more information regarding testing and/or your voter registration status, contact the elections’ office at 478-946-2188.

NOTICE: requirements for general business license
A general business license is required of all businesses operating within Wilkinson County.
Business licenses are not transferable.

The following is a listing of documents that may be required to complete your online application process, depending on the nature of your new business.
- Notarized E-Verify Affidavit
Pursuant to Georgia State Law, private employers of 11 or more employees must be registered for the E-Verify program and must provide their E-Verify user number on the required affidavit.
Private employees with less than 11 employees are required to provide evidence claiming to be exempt from the requirement to register and utilize the E-Verify program and such evidence must be presented in the form of an affidavit.
Prior year notarized E-Verify affidavits are not acceptable.

- Notarized SAVE Affidavit
The State of Georgia has made participation in the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) Program mandatory for any agency administering a business license.
The SAVE affidavit verifies each applicant’s lawful presence in the U.S. by allowing the applicant to affirm either that they are a “U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident 18 years of age or older” or that they are “a qualified alien or nonimmigrant lawfully present in the U.S. and providing the applicant’s alien number.”
Prior year notarized SAVE affidavits are not acceptable.

NOTICE: renew Occupational Tax Certificate
For Wilkinson County Business Owners, it is time to renew your Occupation Tax Certificate.
Your Occupational Certificates expires December 31st of each year. The cost of renewal is $75.00, If you renew after December 31st you will be subject to a 25.00 late fee.

The Wilkinson County Court House will be closed Thursday & Friday, November 25th & 26th, 2021 for the Thanksgiving Holiday. The Court House will reopen Monday November 29, 2021.
