L & A Testing, Computation & Canvassing and Absentee Voting
November 2, 2021 for the Cities of Gordon, Irwinton & Toomsboro General Election
In accordance with O.C.G.A. 21-2-379.6 (c) Logic & Accuracy testing on the voting equipment to be used in the November 2, 2021, Municipal General Election and will be publicly performed in the Board of Elections and Registrations office.Testing will begin on September 27, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. This testing will continue day to day until completed. Members of the public are invited to observe the preparation and testing of all equipment to be used.The election superintendent and deputy registrar will conduct testing.Computation, canvassing, and certification of election results will begin on Wednesday November 3, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., unless otherwise posted, and will continue day to day until complete.
The voter registration deadline for the November 2, 2021, Municipal General Election is October 4, 2021.Absentee voting by mail will begin on October 12, 2021-October 22, 2021. Advanced In-Person voting will begin October 12, 2021-October 29, 2021, at the courthouse from 9:00am-5:00pm. Saturday voting will be on October 16 & 23, 2021. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
A public hearing on the proposed FY 2022 budget for Wilkinson County will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Chambers of the Wilkinson County Courthouse, located at 100 Bacon Street, Irwinton, Georgia. Pending no further action is needed, said budget will be adopted on Tuesday October 4, 2021at 9:00 a.m. at the commissioner’s regularly scheduled meeting.
The proposed budget for FY 2022 is available for public inspection Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Office at 100 Bacon Street, Irwinton, Georgia.

NOTICE: Roofing proposals timeline extended
The timeline for the roofing proposals for the Wilkinson County Courthouse has been extended.
In addition, the sealed bid proposals are now due on Monday, August 23rd at 10:00 a.m., and will be publicly opened immediately and read aloud in the Wilkinson County Commissioner’s meeting room in the Wilkinson County Court House located at 100 Bacon Street, Irwinton, Georgia 31042.

NOTICE: seeking applications for Appraisal I and Appraisal II (FILLED as of 9/20/2021)
Wilkinson County is currently accepting applications for Appraisal I and Appraisal II for the Wilkinson County Tax Assessor’s Office.
The position is responsible for appraising property, maintaining the property tax database and providing clerical support to the Tax Assessor’s office working under the direction of the Chief Tax Appraiser.
Salary is $14.41-16.31 depending on qualifications an hour with excellent benefits.
Applicants must be 21 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to work with the public.
Applicants must have strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel and possess a GA driver’s license.
Successful applicant will need to achieve Appraiser I status within 12 months of hire as required by the State of Georgia and pass a drug screen.
