NOTICE: Intent to process and tabulate early of absentee ballots
PURSUANT TO O.C.G.A. 21-2-386(a)(1)(G) (2) (A) & 183-1-14) This is to notify the citizens of Wilkinson County that the Wilkinson County Board of Elections/Registrar Office, will begin Processing of the ballots for the November 5, 2024, General Election at 9:00 a.m. on October 31, 2024, until completed. Early Processing will be in the Wilkinson County Election & Registration Office in the courthouse at 100 Bacon St, Rm 133 Irwinton, GA 31042.
The early processing of absentee ballots before the closing of the polls shall be a controlled process to maintain the secrecy of all ballots and to protect against the collection or disclosure of any balloting information before the close of the polls at 7:00 PM on Election Day.

Early Voting is being held at the Wilkinson County Courthouse located at 100 Bacon St. Irwinton, GA 31042
- 10/15 -10/19/2024 from 9 am to 5 pm
- 10/21 – 10/26/2024 from 9 am to 5 pm
- 10/28 – 11/01/20024 from 9 am to 5 pm
We will have no Sunday voting.

NOTICE: Request for quotes to renovatation of the old jail
The Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners will be accepting bids on the following County Project:

- Renovation of the old jail to included but not be limited to:

- Floor repairs including carpet removal & new floor installation
- Repairing and painting walls
Work will be done to facilities located at 100 Bacon Street, Irwinton, GA, next to the Wilkinson County Courthouse. The successful bidder will submit a certificate of workers comp. and liability insurance when the bid is awarded. A Residential Contractors license for the state of Georgia will be required.
Specifications may be obtained at the Wilkinson County Commissioners Office in the Court House located at 100 Bacon Street, Irwinton Georgia 31042, on the county website https://wilkinsoncounty.net, or by emailing tstrange@wilkinsoncounty.net.
Sealed Bids will be accepted until 12:00 P.M., November 4, 2024, and will be opened at the Public Bid Opening to be held at the Wilkinson County Commissioners Office and will be recorded at that time. The Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to accept or reject any bid.

NOTICE: Courthouse closed on 9/27/2024 due to weather
Due to the inclement weather conditions, the courthouse will be closed tomorrow, Friday, September 27. The courthouse will reopen Monday, September 30 normal business hours. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
NOTICE: accepting sealed bids for ‘resurfacing of 2 County Maintained Roads within Wilkinson County’
The Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners will be accepting sealed bids on the following County Project:
- Resurfacing of 2 County Maintained Roads within Wilkinson County.
2013 Department of Transportation Specifications for Patching, Leveling, Resurfacing, Tack Coat, and Stripping. Payment will be based on quantities in place. Bidders are required to visit roads prior to bidding.
Project Scope: The project consists of approximately 3.30 miles of roadway
The successful bidder will submit a certificate of workers comp., liability insurance, and performance bond in the amount of 100% of the project upon being awarded the bid.

NOTICE: accepting sealed bids for ‘restructuring and operation of the Wilkinson County Recreation Department’
The Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners will be accepting sealed bids on the following County Project:
- Restructuring and operation of the Wilkinson County Recreation Department
The Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners are looking to revise the recreation department and place it under the management of an outside operator.
Project Scope: The project consists of individuals or groups looking to take over the operation and funding of recreation activities. Interested parties will be responsible for the following:
- Funding for program operations
- Facilitate football, softball, with the possibility of adding other sports such as soccer and basketball
- Maintain fields (striping, dugouts, etc.) County will maintain grounds and buildings
- Provide insurance for participants
- Coordinate coaches and officials for teams and games
- Provide items for concessions, if so desired
The successful proposal will consist of the all of the items listed above and any additional that the proposer desires.
Sealed Proposals will be accepted until 2:00 P.M., Monday November 4, 2024. Commissioners will review all proposals during their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday November 5, 2024 at 9:00am. Interested individuals or groups will be allotted time to present their plan for recreation. The Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to accept or reject any proposal. The Wilkinson County Courthouse will be closed on Monday, September 2nd in observance of the Labor Day Holiday. The Courthouse will reopen Tuesday September 3rd at 8:00 am.
NOTICE: L&A Testing, Computation & Canvassing and Absentee Voting for Nov 5, 2024 General Election
PUBLIC NOTICE: L & A Testing, Computation & Canvassing and Absentee Voting November 5, 2024, General Election
Pursuant to O.C.G.A & 21.2-379.6 (c) notice is hereby given that the logic and accuracy testing on the voting equipment that will be used in the November 5, 2024, General Election in Wilkinson County will be publicly performed in the Board of Elections and Registrations office 100 Bacon Street Irwinton, Ga. 31042. Testing on all voting equipment will begin on Monday September 9, 2024, beginning at 9 am and will continue from day to day until completed. Members of the public are invited to observe the preparation and testing of all equipment to be used. The election supervisor and registrar/clerk and staff will conduct testing. Pursuant to O.C.G.A & 21-2-492 Computation, canvassing, and certification of election results will begin on Wednesday November 6, 2024, unless otherwise posted and will continue from day to day until complete.
The last date to register to vote in the November 5, 2024, General Election is October 7, 2024. The earliest date to begin Absentee Voting by mail begins Monday October 7, 2024. Advance Voting (in-person) will begin on Tuesday October 15, 2024, and go through Friday November 1, 2024, at the Wilkinson County Courthouse. The hours of Early voting will be from 9am to 5 pm each day. We will have Saturday voting on Saturday, October 20 & 27 2024 at the Wilkinson County Courthouse from 9am to 5 pm.
Election Day voting is November 5, 2024, at 7:00a.m to 7:00 p.m. at your assign polling location. We are located in the courthouse in the Elections & Registrar’s Office Rm# 133.
