NOTICE: Courthouse closed on 9/27/2024 due to weather
Due to the inclement weather conditions, the courthouse will be closed tomorrow, Friday, September 27. The courthouse will reopen Monday, September 30 normal business hours. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
NOTICE: accepting sealed bids for ‘resurfacing of 2 County Maintained Roads within Wilkinson County’
The Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners will be accepting sealed bids on the following County Project:
- Resurfacing of 2 County Maintained Roads within Wilkinson County.
2013 Department of Transportation Specifications for Patching, Leveling, Resurfacing, Tack Coat, and Stripping. Payment will be based on quantities in place. Bidders are required to visit roads prior to bidding.
Project Scope: The project consists of approximately 3.30 miles of roadway
The successful bidder will submit a certificate of workers comp., liability insurance, and performance bond in the amount of 100% of the project upon being awarded the bid.
Please use bid documentation sheets to document your bids.
Sealed Bids will be accepted until 2:00 P.M., Monday November 4, 2024, and will be opened and recorded at the Public Bid Opening to be held at the Wilkinson County Commissioners Office. The Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to accept or reject any bid. Interested bidders can contact Tracy Strange, County Manger tstrange@wilkinsoncounty.net for the list of roads for resurfacing.

NOTICE: accepting sealed bids for ‘restructuring and operation of the Wilkinson County Recreation Department’
The Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners will be accepting sealed bids on the following County Project:
- Restructuring and operation of the Wilkinson County Recreation Department
The Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners are looking to revise the recreation department and place it under the management of an outside operator.
Project Scope: The project consists of individuals or groups looking to take over the operation and funding of recreation activities. Interested parties will be responsible for the following:
- Funding for program operations
- Facilitate football, softball, with the possibility of adding other sports such as soccer and basketball
- Maintain fields (striping, dugouts, etc.) County will maintain grounds and buildings
- Provide insurance for participants
- Coordinate coaches and officials for teams and games
- Provide items for concessions, if so desired
The successful proposal will consist of the all of the items listed above and any additional that the proposer desires.
Sealed Proposals will be accepted until 2:00 P.M., Monday November 4, 2024. Commissioners will review all proposals during their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday November 5, 2024 at 9:00am. Interested individuals or groups will be allotted time to present their plan for recreation. The Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to accept or reject any proposal. The Wilkinson County Courthouse will be closed on Monday, September 2nd in observance of the Labor Day Holiday. The Courthouse will reopen Tuesday September 3rd at 8:00 am.
NOTICE: L&A Testing, Computation & Canvassing and Absentee Voting for Nov 5, 2024 General Election
PUBLIC NOTICE: L & A Testing, Computation & Canvassing and Absentee Voting November 5, 2024, General Election
Pursuant to O.C.G.A & 21.2-379.6 (c) notice is hereby given that the logic and accuracy testing on the voting equipment that will be used in the November 5, 2024, General Election in Wilkinson County will be publicly performed in the Board of Elections and Registrations office 100 Bacon Street Irwinton, Ga. 31042. Testing on all voting equipment will begin on Monday September 9, 2024, beginning at 9 am and will continue from day to day until completed. Members of the public are invited to observe the preparation and testing of all equipment to be used. The election supervisor and registrar/clerk and staff will conduct testing. Pursuant to O.C.G.A & 21-2-492 Computation, canvassing, and certification of election results will begin on Wednesday November 6, 2024, unless otherwise posted and will continue from day to day until complete.
The last date to register to vote in the November 5, 2024, General Election is October 7, 2024. The earliest date to begin Absentee Voting by mail begins Monday October 7, 2024. Advance Voting (in-person) will begin on Tuesday October 15, 2024, and go through Friday November 1, 2024, at the Wilkinson County Courthouse. The hours of Early voting will be from 9am to 5 pm each day. We will have Saturday voting on Saturday, October 20 & 27 2024 at the Wilkinson County Courthouse from 9am to 5 pm.
Election Day voting is November 5, 2024, at 7:00a.m to 7:00 p.m. at your assign polling location. We are located in the courthouse in the Elections & Registrar’s Office Rm# 133. NOTICE: request for proposals for Emergency Medical Services
The Wilkinson County Commission is seeking a contractor to provide emergency ambulance services for all of Wilkinson County, regardless of the patient’s ability to pay.
The County is seeking providers who will provide and furnish emergency vehicles and services within the incorporated limits of all municipalities and unincorporated areas of Wilkinson County. Non-emergency service is not to be included in the contract, nor is non-emergency service to be provided utilizing ambulances or equipment provided by contractor for Wilkinson County.
